George Morris of The Advocate joins the show on the 72th Anniversary of DDay to talk with Jim about the importance of war and what the men who fought experienced.

Terry McMillan

The author of "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" and "Mama" is back on the scene with her newest book, "I Almost Forgot About You."  McMillan talks with Jim about the characters in her books and how relate-able they are to our own lives.

Rob Maness

Rob Maness is a Senate candidate and talks to Jim about what makes him different from the other candidates.  Maness also remembers DDay and describes his qualifying background and experience.

Rudy Macklin

Former LSU basketball player Rudy Macklin remembers his friend from Louisville, Muhammad Ali, who died Friday at the age of 74.  Macklin talks about growing up in the same hometown as Ali and watching Ali's fights as a child.

Stewart is famous for portraying the role of beloved schoolteacher "Miss Beadle" in the popular television series Little House on the Prairie (1974).  She talks with Jim about filming with Elvis Presley, meeting her husband on set and upcoming projects she is looking forward to.

Mary Stein

Stein, the Assistant Direction of the East Baton Rouge Parish Library, promotes summer reading for children and adults the summer.

Mark Ballard of the Advocate talks about some of the bills being discussed in the Legislative Session and also addresses what will be discussed in the upcoming special Session.

Jeff Ballou

The Vice President of the National Press Club joins Jim to talk about Donald Trump's attitude toward the First Amendment. He feels that Donald Trump misunderstands the role a free press plays in a democratic society and with that attitude, would not make a good president.

Tom Feltner

Tom Feltner is the director of financial services at the Consumer Federation of America, he talks about aiding Americans with their payday loans. 

The Consumer Federation of America said the "ability to repay" standard proposed by the CFPB is an important step forward because it will help ensure that consumers can make loan payments without falling behind on housing, child care and other expenses. The advocacy group also praised the effort to deter payday firms from repeatedly trying to collect loan payments directly from a customer's bank account, noting that millions of borrowers get hit with overdraft and other fees.

Former lawmaker talks mainly about the presidential election and Donald Trumps attitude towards Hillary Clinton before the Presidential Election and now.

Congressman John Fleming 

Congressman John Fleming is a conservative republican also running for U.S. Senate.  He feels that Obamacare is wrong and expresses his views and opinions on government.

Bernie Pinsonat

Pollster Bernie Pinsonat says State Treasurer John Kennedy has a large lead with the upcoming U.S. Senate election. In a Southern Media and Opinion Research poll of 500 likely voters, Pinsonat says the poll shows Kennedy's favorable rating is a 62%.

05/31 Tuesday: Witness the Revolution, Jeff Sadow, Former Chancellor of LSU on TOPS for Higher Education.

Jim Wharton

Former LSU Chancellor James "Jim" Wharton joins Jim during  the second hour to elaborate on the Legislation's decision to decrease TOPS funding.  Wharton feels that by decreasing the program, due to the cost of higher education, parents will not be able to send their children to college.

 

 

05/30 Monday: The Crawfish Boat, Funding for Art in Louisiana, Michael Medved on Donald Trump

John Laudun

Author John Laudun explains how the history of the crawfish boat, where a diverse network of individuals take pieces of aluminum and steel and invent a traditional amphibious boat transformed the economics of rice agriculture in Louisiana, in his book, "The Crawfish Boat."

Ann Connelly

State law requires that 1 percent of the total spent on a major public construction project or renovation be spent on art inside or outside of the grounds. The bill would add a cap of $450,000 to the art expenditure, or 1 percent, whichever is less.  Ann Connelly joins Jim on the show to express her feelings about the bill and how important art and artists are to Louisiana culture.

 

HOUR TWO

Michael Medved

Michael Medved is a nationally syndicated radio talk show host and bestselling author.  He was a classmate of Hillary and Bill Clinton and is no fan of Donald Trump.  Medved discusses with Jim the reasons The Donald should not become the President.

Medved also talks about his fascination with WWII and the museum in New Orleans as it relates to his upcoming book.
