Marc Eliot

 

Marc Eliot is a New York Times bestselling author and has written a plethora of books. His books are mainly centered around pop culture icons including, Walt Disney, Carey Grant, Jack Nicholson and the list goes on. On today's show he talked about his newly released book, Charles Heston: Hollywoods Last Icon.

Melinda Deslatte

Melinda Deslatte joined the Associated Press in 1999 and 2000 transferred from Raleigh, NC to Baton Rouge. Deslatte discussed the annual  Statewide Capitol Correspondents Gridiron Show where Louisiana politicians are spoofed in performances. The Gridiron Show in BR is the longest running in the country. 

Caitriona Lally

Caitriona Lally is an Irish author and discussed her debut book Eggshells on the show. Lally studied English Literature at Trinity College. Before writing her first book book she worked in the past as a copywriter and as a teacher in Japan. She currently lives in Dublin, Ireland.

Trey Ourso

Political analyst Trey Ourso stopped by in studio to discuss Donald Trump's first 8 weeks as president. He graduated from Louisiana State University and is a Partner at Ourso Beychok, Inc.

Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications, Legal and Special Projects, Payer joins the show to talk with callers and Jim about the Louisiana Shelter at Home Program.  Deadline to register for the program is October 15.

Trey Ourso

Trey Ourso is a political consultant joining the show to talk about the presidential debates Monday night.  Ourso discusses Hillary and Donald's campaigns, determining who he feels "won" the debate.

Judge Bob Downing & Judge Darrell White

The two judges are retired but both are still active in the community.  Downing and White join the show to discuss many issues relating to The Constitution, race relations and military.

Trey Ourso

Political consultant Trey Ourso is a Democrat backing Hillary Clinton.  Ourso discusses the Presidential race and compares Clinton to Trump.

Dean Albert Samuels

Dr. Albert Samuels is now Dean Samuels.  He is on the show to talk with Jim about why he feels Louisiana needs more universities.  Samuels also updates us on the death of the two former Southern University students.

Smiley Anders

Smiley Anders is on the show with Jim to discuss the proposition of admitting his hometown, Natchez, MS to Louisiana.  Anders tells Jim about what he feels about the succession of the city.

HOUR TWO

Trey Ourso

Trey Ourso was recognized with the Excellence Award last week as the 2015 Campaign Strategist of the Year for his work with Gumbo PAC during the Louisiana governor’s race.  Ourso founded Gumbo PAC and served as the PAC’s chief strategist. Ourso discusses what its like to be recognized for this award among other topics.

HOUR ONE: 

Davis Miller is the author of international bestsellers including The Tao of Muhammad Ali: A Fathers and Sons Memoir and Tao of Bruce Lee: My Martial Arts Memoir.  He is also the co-librettist of a chamber opera that is based on his transformed-by-Ali stories. He is at work on a harrowing yet comic memoir about having been recently kidnapped in China and on an obsessive modern love novel.  Today he shares his latest book, Approaching Ali. "I think he saved me from what might have been an otherwise, bad, miserable existence."   

Darrell White

Judge Darrell White is the founder and president of the Retired Judges of America.  In light of GOP Presidential Candidate Donald Trump's recent statements on deporting all Muslims and banning them further entry to America, Ourso speculates the constitutionality of such a statement should Trump win the presidency.

Trey Ourso is the former executive director of the Louisiana Democratic Party.  He is the director of the Gumbo PAC.  Gumbo PAC is a non-partisan clearinghouse of information focused on educating Louisiana voters about U.S. Senator David Vitter's disgraceful public record.  He discusses the improbable win of now Governor-Elect John Bel Edwards.

Steve Knopper is a contributing editor for Rolling Stone.  He shares his biography of Michael Jackson The Genius of Michael Jackson.   He describes Jackson's desire to have children and his lasting distrust within his own family.  

Julio Melara 

Julio Melara is the publisher of 225 Magazine.  He is partners with Rolfe McCollister.  The Magazine is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month.  According to Melara, the name of the magazine was a choice between 'BRinc' and '225'. 

John Cummings

John Cummings is a private Attorney from New Orleans.  He is also the owner of the Whitney Plantation, which he is transforming into a slavery museum.  Cummings is the lawyer reportedly targeted by the David Vitter campaign.  Cummings says he believes Vitter's private investigator was after the Sheriff of Jefferson parish.

Alan Risher is a former LSU quarterback.  He comments on the Saints' win yesterday.  The Saints game yesterday broke the record of touchdowns in a single game set by New Orleans Saints Billy Kilmer and St. Louis Cardinals Charley Johnson in 1969.  He also speculates on the upcoming LSU game against Alabama.
