Hour 1:

David Bellinger & Vincent Bruno

Regular caller and listener David Bellinger of Atlanta joins the show along with Republican former law enforcement officer from the New Orleans area, Vincent Bruno, to chat about President Donald Trump. The pair also comments on the recovery of Congressman Steve Scalise after he was shot at a baseball practice last week. Bellinger was a former union leader in New Orleans and represents the left.

Gus Weill

Former Political Consultant Gus Weill chats with Jim about the highlights of his life. Weill comments on his experiences, his books, and people he's encountered throughout his years. He also comments on the death of the actress Jayne Mansfield in Louisiana. Weill says President Lincoln was the country's best president.

John Kennedy

Senator John Kennedy joined Jim as the first guest for today's show. He commented on Steve Scalice, flood relief legislation and possibly running for governor. Kennedy was raised in Zachary and graduated from Vanderbilt University. 

Humberto Fontova

Humberto Fontova is a Cuban-Ameircan author, blogger and political commentator. Fontova was on the air to comment and give his opinion on Trump's latest crackdown on Cuba. Fontova's family came to New Orleans at the age of seven in 1961.

Hour Two

Lamar White and Rev. David Diamond

Lamar White is a liberal blogger and Rev, David Diamond is a conservative. The two men were on the show to debate current issued in our society including taking opposing sides about President. Donald Trump.

Remembering George Wallace

George Wallace is the former controversial Governor of Alabama; Wallace infamously gave a speech, supporting the continued segregation of the University of Alabama. he served as governor for 16 years and then his wife for 4 years. Wallace died on September 13, 1998.   

Mark Ballard

Mark Ballard returns to the Jim Engster Show to comment more on the special session and the future of Louisiana.

Hour Two

Ellen Moyer

Dr. Ellen Moyer is a registered professional engineer with a BA in anthropology, an MS in environmental engineering, and a PhD in civil engineering. She has more than 30 years of environmental engineering experience. She spoke on Donald Trump's decision to pull the US out of the Paris Agreement.

Tony Guarisco

Tony Guarisco is a Democratic former the Louisiana state senator. He represented district 12 from 1976 to 1988.

Baton Rouge U.S. Representative Garret Graves joins Jim briefly to comment of the tragic shooting in Alexandria, Virginia this morning that left multiple people wounded, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Jefferson Parish. 

Jason Hebert & Vincent Bruno

Republican Political Consultant and friend of Congressman Steve Scalise, Jason Hebert, along with Republican and former law enforcement officer Vincent Bruno chat with Jim about the character of the U.S. Representative, who is currently in critical condition after undergoing surgery.  

Hour 2:

Susan Nelson & Ben Bagert 

Former Communications Director for the Louisiana Democratic Party Susan Nelson and former Republican state lawmaker and attorney Ben Bagert discuss the Scalise shooting and how it affects America as a whole. Bagert is a relative of Scalise. The pair also comments on Jeff Sessions' testimony.

Congressman Clay Higgins is a representative for Louisiana's 3rd congressional district. Clay Higgins spoke on President Donald Trump, his first 5 months in the House and Radical Islam. Higgins won in the runoff election on December 10, 2016 and beat his opponent, Scott Angelle. 

Rudy Macklin

Rudy Macklin is a former 4 years starter for LSU basketball and is the current director for the Governor's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports. Macklin discussed obesity in the United States and in Louisiana.

Mike Bertaut

Mike Bertaut is a healthcare economist from Blue Cross Blue Shield. Bertaut came on the air to talk more on the fate of Obamacare in Louisiana. He approximately 25 years of analytical experience in healthcare.
