Guy Oliver

 

Guy Oliver is the owner of GW Oliver Construction; he came in studio with guest host Leo Honeycutt to discuss pool drownings and ways to prevent them during the summertime. 

Chris Stewart

Ex-police officer Chris Stewart talked to our guest host about the lack of enrollment into the police union in Baton Rouge. There has been a significant decrease in volunteers and that could have an impact on how well people are protected.

Former governor of Louisiana Edwin Edwards returned to chat with guest host Leo Honeycutt. Edwards turned 90 years old on August 7th and talked about what it is like to be 90 and more about his life today.

Steve Carter is a former LSU tennis coach and now serves a Republican state representative for district 68 in Baton Rouge. Carter joined are guest host Fred Rosenfeld and talked about the gas tax, the legislator and more. 

Ronnie Kole

Ronnie Kole is a legendary New Orleans-based Jazz Pianist, originally born in Chicago. Kole is has been admired by important people in the industry and even trained Harry Connick Jr. Kole was the fifth person to be inducted into the New Orleans Musical Legends Park in 2008.

Lance Harris

Lance Harris id from Alexandria and is the Chairman of the Republican Caucus. Harris is the Republican leader for District 25 and represents Rapides Parish. He commented more about the proposed gas tax in Louisiana. 

 

John Digiulio and Mike Johnson

John Digulio and Mike Johnson from Digiulio Brothers Italian Cafe were on air to talk about the history of the restaurant and what gave it its staying power.

Certified personal trainer Brad Kolowich and Rrobert Davis, Ph. D talked about their book Fitter,Faster. The book shows you how getting in shape requires less time and effort than you may think. 

Bill Curl

Bill Curl was a guest in the first hour to speak on the 42nd anniversary of the Louisiana Superdome. The Superdome opened on August 9, 1975. Curl is the former Public Relations director of the Superdome, a position he held for 33 years.

Dr. Lonnie Luce

Dr. Lonnie Luce is the superintendent of University View Academy; UVA is an online school and he talked more about the school on air.

Elbert Guillory

Senator Elbert Guillory called in to comment on what he thinks America should do about North Korea.

William Shepard

Mike Shepard is the President of the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. He is talked about the the recent death of Glen Campbell and the upcoming anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley.

Lori Perkins

Lori Perkins is the editor/author of 25 erotic romance anthologies and is the founder of the L. Perkins Literary Agency, and a former adjunct professor of journalism at NYU. She is one of the authors of Everything You Always Wanted to Know About Watergate but Were Afraid to Ask and discussed the book on air. 

Adam St. Pierre

Adam St. Pierre is with the EBR Parish Library and will be here to talk about the beer lecture series happening at the library. The Library will be serving beer and discussing the historical brewing of New Orleans beer. It takes place at 6 pm on August 9th.

Hour Two

Dr. Stephen Etheredge and Dr. Ray Castle 

Doctors Stephen Etheredge and Ray Castle will be on air to talk about concussions. Dr. Etheredge is the team doctor over the concussion program at LSU and Dr. Castle is head of the Athletic Training program curriculum that trains AT students.

Gus Weill

Former Public Relations specialist and auhtor Gus Weill was on air to comment on President Trump and his comments about North Korea.

Former four-term Governor Edwin Edwards turns 90-years-old today. Jim remembers the Cajun Prince's life and plays an interview from Talk Louisiana with Edwards. 

Hour 2:

Reginald Pitcher

Rev. Reginald Pitcher joins Jim in studio to discuss race relations in Louisiana and around the country. Pitcher is the former pastor of the Greater Baptist Sixty-Aid Church in the Gardere area of Baton Rouge.
