Baton Rouge U.S. Representative Garret Graves joins Jim briefly to comment of the tragic shooting in Alexandria, Virginia this morning that left multiple people wounded, including House Majority Whip Steve Scalise of Jefferson Parish.

Republican Political Consultant and friend of Congressman Steve Scalise, Jason Hebert, along with Republican and former law enforcement officer Vincent Bruno chat with Jim about the character of the U.S. Representative, who is currently in critical condition after undergoing surgery.  

Hour 2:

Susan Nelson & Ben Bagert 

Former Communications Director for the Louisiana Democratic Party Susan Nelson and former Republican state lawmaker and attorney Ben Bagert discuss the Scalise shooting and how it affects America as a whole. Bagert is a relative of Scalise. The pair also comments on Jeff Sessions' testimony.

Crump said she was contacted by Georgetown University about her family members that were enslaved by a Catholic church in Louisiana. The article is "Georgetown Confronts a Haunting Sale of Slaves" by Rachel Swarns. 

Army War College

Col. Lance Clark discusses the United States Army War College in Carlisle, Penn. Clark talks about enrollment and what the university has to offer. He says the War College comes to Louisiana to encourage students to talk about national security.

Congressman Garret Graves joins Jim to talk about the 6th anniversary of the Deep Water Horizon oil spill. He also discusses coastline erosion, the rising sea level, and coastline restoration.  

Gus Weill

Political Consultant Gus Weill joins Jim to discuss the upcoming presidential election. He talks about the New York primary election and the victories of Republican candidate Donald Trump and Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton.

Baton Rouge/New Orleans/Lafayette Advocate Editor Peter Kovacs kicks off the show today with his thoughts on the newspaper business and why The Advocate does not endorse candidates.

6th Congressional District Candidate Garret Graves calls in and calls Former Governor Edwin Edwards' accusations that his father was awarded government contracts while Graves worked for the state "completely baseless and absurd."

In Hour 2 we are joined by Mathew Laborde on the Forum 35 Reindeer Run & Jingle Bell Jog tomorrow night in downtown Baton Rouge.

Edwards then calls to respond to Graves call. Things get heated.

We are then joined by Lamar White Jr. -- he's the political blogger who broke the Bill Cassidy "Double Billing" story.
