The head of the National College Athletic Association joins Jim at the Manship School of Mass Communication on LSU's campus for the LSU Sports Summit.  Emmert talks about the rules of the NCAA dealing with paying college athletes and how the association determines punishment or infractions.

Joe Nocera

American journalist and author and New York Times Op-Ed columnist discusses the topic of whether college athletes should be paid or not.

HOUR TWO

Ben Strauss

Co-author of of Indentured, about the NCAA with Joe Nocera, Strauss joins Jim over the phone at the Manship School at LSU to discuss wealth in college sports. 

Tim Brando

Tim Brando was also a part of the Sports Communication Summit at LSU.  Brando is a sportscaster with FOX Sports.  He talks with Jim about his opinions on college athletics and revenue in the NCAA. 

Tom Schedler

The Louisiana Secretary of State joins Jim over the phone and talks about the upcoming Presidential election and the turnouts for early voting in the state of Louisiana.

Born into the one percent, Collins gave away his inheritance at 26 years old and Collins calls for a ceasefire and invites the wealthy to come back home, investing themselves and their wealth in struggling communities.  And he asks the non-wealthy to build alliances with the one percent and others at the top of the wealth ladder.

Tom Schedler

LA Secretary of State joins the show to talk about the Senate race voting and voter registration.  For actually going out and voting, residents will receive a George Rodrigue Blue Dog sticker that says, "I Voted."

Stephanie Grace of The Advocate talks about Jefferson Parish President, Mike Yenni.  An attorney in Metairie has filed a petition to recall the President. This comes after Yenni admitted to sending improper text messages to a 17-year-old boy. Grace talks about the incident and the effect it will have on his career as well as personal life.

Rob Maness

Senate candidates' legal attempt to force LPB and the Council for a Better Louisiana to include more candidates in next week’s Senate debate gets a hearing today in a Baton Rouge courtroom.  Col. Rob Maness is one of the Senate candidates who were not invited to the debate because he did not meet qualifications.

The Chair for Young Professionals and Students for Trump for Louisiana.  He gives his reasons for supporting Trump and why he feels Trump will win the presidential election.

Douglas Kennedy, PR manager at the LASM

Douglas introduces the new addition to the Solar System Gallery at the Louisiana Art and Science Museum--a 65-million-year-old, 1,500-pound Triceratops skull named Jason. This colossal fossil was discovered in 2011 on a private ranch in the Hell Creek Formation located in Garfield County, Montana, an area well known for its fossil findings.

Measuring 86 inches long, this massive skull exhibits the three horns and bony head frill that characterize the dinosaur species known as Triceratops, or “three-horned face.

Hour 1: 

Tom Schedler

Recently re-elected Secretary of State Tom Schedler talks about the runoff election and discusses if voter turnout will be greater than it was for the primary. Schedler says the weather had a lot to do with undecided voters staying inside but hopes the outlook is better on November 21st. 

Schedler says many people are turned off from voting because of negative attack ads. 

Renee Chatelain

Recently named CEO of the Baton Rouge Art Council Renee Chatelain chats with Jim about her new job position. Chatelain talks about Jazz history in Louisiana and The River City Jazz Masters. 

Hour 2: 

Russel Honore

General Russel Honore joins the show to discuss the upcoming runoff election. Honore says he isn't qualified to be president, after a comment from a caller. 

Honore says doesn't comment on who he is endorsing for governor because he's following the law. General Honore is not a member of either major political party.
