Russel Honore

Lt. General Russel Honore is Leo's first guest of the show today and comments on North Korea launching an ballistic missile today that landed in the Sea of Japan. Honore also discusses what would happen if North Korea tried to go to war with the U.S.

Press Secretary for the Attorney General's Office Ruth Wisher comments on cyber crimes and safe holiday shopping online. Wisher gives tips to make sure consumers keep their information secure and avoid internet scams.

Congressman Ralph Abraham joins the conversation to comment on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Abraham gives details on the plan and the pros and the cons.

State Treasurer and Senate candidate John Kennedy joins the show to give information about volunteering and donating items that are needed around the city. 

Russel Honore

General Russel Honore is no amateur when it comes to natural disasters.  Honore has been in shelters volunteering and helping all week. On the show Honore talks of his experiences and how they've gotten thousands of people organized in different shelters this week.

HOUR TWO

Robin Ganzert

Ganzert is the Pres. and CEO of American Humane Society.  She discusses the society's first response efforts.  American Humane is sending rescue trucks from Oklahoma and Pennsylvania with supplies and equipment to shelter up to 100 animals.

George Sells

Former WAFB anchorman George Sells joins the show to vent about what has happened in the community.  Sells compares the storm that flooded the city to Hurricane Agnes in Pennsylvania in 1970. 

Scott Wester

Our Lady of the Lake Chief Executive Officer Scott Wester joins the show to talk about all the Dr.s, Nurses and employees who have helped the patients and community during this storm and tragedy.

General Russel Honore

Lt. General Russel Honore, US Army (Ret) and current leader of the Green Army talks with Jim in studio about the recent ambush on police in Baton Rouge. Honore also discusses the death of Alton Sterling, Philando Castile, the attack on police in Dallas, as well as, the terror attack in Nice, France. 

Honore comments on the struggles men and women face after returning home from the military. 

Hour 2:

Raymond Strother

Political consultant Ray Strother joins Jim to discuss what's going on at the Republican National Convention and the overall presidential election. Strother comments on Melania Trump's speech at the RNC which sounded similar to Michelle Obama's speech at the DNC in 2008.

Abhay Patel

Abhay Patel is running for the Senate.  A graduate of Louisiana State University, Patel has previously worked in economics and finance in the state of New York.  For the last few years he has worked in New Orleans. This is his first time running for office.

Johnny Palazzotto

Palazzotto is co-founder of Baton Rouge Blues Foundation,Inc. He currently produces the Slim Harpo Music Awards and presents Music in the Schools throughout Louisiana. Palazzotto joins Jim on the show a week before the Slim Harpo Award Show that will be held at The Varsity Theater in Baton Rouge.

HOUR TWO

LTG Russel Honore

LT. General Russel L. Honoré, US Army (Ret),  joins Jim on the show to talk about the Orlando shooting and the child who was killed by an alligator in DisneyWorld.  Honore talks gun control and criticizes the procedures of investigating suspect criminals in reference to the Orlando incident.

Aaron Blackledge

 In over three decades of operation the Baton Rouge Crisis Intervention Center, Inc. has effectively and positively touched the lives of tens of thousands of people and their neighbors in surrounding communities. Aaron Blackledge is the Exec. Director and he joins the show to talk about the services provided amid the traumatic events that have happened over the week.

President of the Louisiana Nurse Practitioners Lisa Bayhi joins Jim in studio along with Nurse Practitioner Sophia Rivere to talk about new legislation to remove the collaborative practice agreement nurse practitioners have with doctors.

Author Ruta Sepetys joins the show to talk about her latest book, Salt to the Sea

Gen. Russel Honore visits Jim in studio to discuss the bombings in Brussels and ways to increase security. Honore says he has no regrets he didn't run for governor but is concerned Louisiana doesn't have a united government. He leads the Green Army, which fights for clean air and water and healthy communities. 

10/29 Thursday: Renee Chatelain, Tom Schedler, Russel Honore

Hour 1: 

Tom Schedler

Recently re-elected Secretary of State Tom Schedler talks about the runoff election and discusses if voter turnout will be greater than it was for the primary. Schedler says the weather had a lot to do with undecided voters staying inside but hopes the outlook is better on November 21st. 

Schedler says many people are turned off from voting because of negative attack ads. 

Renee Chatelain

Recently named CEO of the Baton Rouge Art Council Renee Chatelain chats with Jim about her new job position. Chatelain talks about Jazz history in Louisiana and The River City Jazz Masters. 

Hour 2: 

Russel Honore

General Russel Honore joins the show to discuss the upcoming runoff election. Honore says he isn't qualified to be president, after a comment from a caller. 

Honore says doesn't comment on who he is endorsing for governor because he's following the law. General Honore is not a member of either major political party.
