Richard Fontanesi

Richard Fontanesi briefly discussed the solar eclipse that took place today. Fontanesi traveled to Kentucky to view the eclipse and see it in its totality.

Geoffrey Stone commented on the op-ed piece he wrote defending Richard Spencer's First Amendment right to speak at Auburn University. Richard Spencer is a white supremacist and one of the leading voices of the alt-right.

 

Robin Ganzert

Robin Ganzert was the third guest; she is the president of American Humane. American Humane helps to protect animals and children from abuse and harm. One year after the flooding there will be a giant gift of hope to arrive for Louisiana Animals.

Roger Villere is the Chairman for the Louisiana Republican Party and an businessman from Metairie. He talked about the status of the Republican Party in Louisiana and commented on events happening in the world today.

Jason Turbow

Jason Turbow is a best-selling author and sports journalist; he discussed with Jim his latest book titled, Dynastic, Bombastic, Fantastic. The book focuses on the baseball team the Oakland Athletics and owner Charlie Finley. He discusses the players and the success of the team in the early 70s.

Mary Jennings "MJ" Hegar

Mary Jennings Hegar is an Air Force Veteran and a Purple Hear recipient. She earned the Distinguished Flying Cross during her time in the Air Force and is only the 6th women in history to receive one. She talked with Jim about her memoir. Shoot Like A Girl, available now. 

Ian Birnie

Ian Birnie is the Programming Director of the Louisiana International Film Festival (LIFF) and was the former film curator for LAMCA. Birnie held the position of LACMA's Film Department Director for 14 years. He discussed on the show some of the themes and movies of this year's festival.

Roger Villere is the chairman of the Louisiana Republican Party and has been since 2004. He has been elected for six straight terms and is running for a seventh term. Villere is originally from New Orleans and now resides in Metairie, Jefferson Parish.

The Chairman of the Louisiana Republican Party stopped by to give his insight on the upcoming presidential election and the local Louisiana election for Senate. He has been serving as Chairman for almost 14 years.

Author and journalist Jules Witcover stopped by to indulge on the upcoming election for President of the United States. He has written for the like of the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun. He has covered several presidential campaigns. 

Humberto Fontova and Melissa Flournoy

Humberto Fontova is a Cuban-born American author and political commentator. Melissa Flournoy is the former Director of Planned Parenthood. The veteran Jim Engster Show guests will stop to discuss the final presidential debate airing October 19. Fontova is for Trump and Flournoy for Hillary.

Taylor is the editor of The Renaissance website and magazine.  He is referred to as a white-supremacist in support of Donald Trump.  Taylor elaborates on his support in the 2016 Presidential Election.

Ted Rall's book about Donald Trump, Trump: A Graphic Biography explores the little-known episodes that helped form the man who shocked the U.S. media by launching the hostile takeover of the Republican Party. He talks about Trump's cartoonish mannerisms and feels that Trump will win the election.

Roger Villere

The Chairman of LA GOP joins the show in the beginning of the second hour to analyze both conventions over the past two weeks.  Villere projects Trump to win the state and the country.

Susan Nelson

Former Communications Director for the LA Democratic Party, Nelson joins the show in the final hour to talk about the Democratic Convention in comparison to the Republican Convention.

He is originally from Baton Rouge and joins the show to talk about his newest music ventures and the tragedies in his hometown. He invites the city to come and listen to him at the St. James Episcopal Church on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.

Representative Patricia Smith talks with Jim about the recent shootings in Baton Rouge. Smith expresses the Capitol city's need for an open discussion about racial profiling.

David St. Romain

Musical artist David St. Romain is a native of Alexandria, Louisiana who expresses his grief for his friend, Officer Brad Garafola who lost his life Sunday in Baton Rouge.

Roger Villere

Roger Villere is Chairman of the Louisiana Republican Party.  He is attending the Republican Convention in Cleveland this week but expresses the concern for the Capital city and the effects of the shootings on the convention.
