Tyler Bridges and Jeremy Alford join the show to promote their book Long Shot.  This book follows the campaigns of David Vitter and John Bel Edwards in their race to become the governor of Louisiana.  Bridges and Alford join Jim to talk about the stories from the book.  They will be at Barnes and Noble on Perkins Rowe tonight for book signings.

Michael Wolf

Attorney Mike Wolf joins the show to discuss 3rd party voting, specifically Gary Johnson and the Libertarian Party in this year's presidential election.  Wolf predicts that there will be more demand for a 3rd party candidate in the future.

The president of Public Affairs Research Council opens up the show with Jim and discusses the session.  Scott touches on the statement made by Jefferson Parish Sheriff Newell Normand who called House Bill 1148 “bulls***” and accused lawmakers of political pandering.

Dr. Sean Illing

Dr. Sean Illing is a writer and blogger in Baton Rouge.  Illing is on the show with Jim to comment on Hillary Clinton and her use of a personal server in a report by the Inspector General.

Rev. Steve Crump

Rev. Steve Krump addresses two social issues:  the Pastor Protection Act and the story of an Amite student who was not able to walk for his graduation because of his facial hair. 

Darrell Gissell

Businessman and realtor Darryl Gissel  is running as an independent to change the stigma of Baton Rouge politicians and to get things done for the city-parish.  He is now one of seven mayoral candidates in the race.  He joins the show to talk about his platform and reasons behind his candidacy.

Jeremy Alford

Jeremy Alford is the publisher and editor of LaPolitics.com and LaPolitics Weekly.  He joins Jim on the show to remember his successor, John James Maginnis who died two years ago on this date.

Julie Cantrell : The Feathered Bone

Author of women's fiction, Julie stops by the show to share the release of her new book, The Feathered Bone, which touches on women trafficking.

Marsanne Golsby

Marsanne Golsby was the former Press Secretary to Governor Mike Foster.  She discusses the inaugural of John Bel Edwards earlier today.  Golsby asserts that Edwards is starting off with a political challenge as he loses his choice for Speaker of the House. 

"If you're asking me if President Obama is coming to Louisiana because we have a new Democrat for our governor?" Golsby says, "Probably."  

Paul Kiel

Paul Kiel is ProPublica reporter who covers consumer finance.  He discusses his article in The New York Times, Debt and the Radical Wealth Gap.  "The average black family makes 60% of what the average white family earns." 

HOUR TWO: 

Tom Aswell

Tom Aswell is the publisher of Louisiana Voice. He comments on this morning's governor inauguration of John Bel Edwards.  "I think he might be a one term governor," Aswell says of Edwards," Unless something drastic happens."  Aswell also remembers the late C.B. Forgotston and his predictions of Bobby Jindal's political aspirations.

John Couvillon is a well known Louisiana pollster.   Couvillon launched his political consulting business and incorporated as JMC Enterprises of Louisiana (also known as JMC Analytics and Polling) in the fall of 2010.  He comments on early voting turnout in Louisiana for the Gubernatorial election.  So far, it appears that voter turnout will exceed the October primary.

Dr. Laura Cassidy is the co-founder of the Louisiana Key Academy, a public charter school focusing on children with dyslexia in East Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes. She serves as President of the board.  Dr. Cassidy says that one in five people are affected by dyslexia.  

Clancy DuBos

Clancy DuBos is the owner of The Gambit.  He discusses the Gubernatorial election, the debate tonight, and the latest revelations about Senator Vitter.  DuBos also shares the Vitter update: inconsistencies come to life

Felicia Harry 

Felicia Harry is a board member of the 2014 LSU Legends Forum.  She discusses the annual party for the A. P. Turreau Louisiana Chapter of the NAACP for Homecoming week.
