Senator John Kennedy joined Jim as the first guest for today's show. He commented on Steve Scalice, flood relief legislation and possibly running for governor. Kennedy was raised in Zachary and graduated from Vanderbilt University. 

Humberto Fontova

Humberto Fontova is a Cuban-Ameircan author, blogger and political commentator. Fontova was on the air to comment and give his opinion on Trump's latest crackdown on Cuba. Fontova's family came to New Orleans at the age of seven in 1961.

Hour Two

Lamar White and Rev. David Diamond

Lamar White is a liberal blogger and Rev, David Diamond is a conservative. The two men were on the show to debate current issued in our society including taking opposing sides about President. Donald Trump.

The Chairman of the Louisiana Republican Party stopped by to give his insight on the upcoming presidential election and the local Louisiana election for Senate. He has been serving as Chairman for almost 14 years.

Author and journalist Jules Witcover stopped by to indulge on the upcoming election for President of the United States. He has written for the like of the Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and the Baltimore Sun. He has covered several presidential campaigns. 

Humberto Fontova and Melissa Flournoy

Humberto Fontova is a Cuban-born American author and political commentator. Melissa Flournoy is the former Director of Planned Parenthood. The veteran Jim Engster Show guests will stop to discuss the final presidential debate airing October 19. Fontova is for Trump and Flournoy for Hillary.

Joe Conason 

Joe Conason is an American author who joined the show to discuss his new book 'Man of the World: The Further Endeavors of Bill Clinton' and his experiences with the former President. He is the former executive editor of the New York Observer and founder & editor-in-chief of The National Memo. 

Dr. Laura Cassidy 

 

Dr. Laura Cassidy joined Jim to discuss dyslexia and the Louisiana Key Academy, a charter school that she co-founded. The LA Key Academy specializes in teaching students with dyslexia. She served as Chief of Surgery at Earl K. Long Medical Center from 1990-1992. She worked in private practice specializing in breast cancer treatment until her retirement in 2006.

Humberto Fontova

 

Humberto Fontova is a Cuban-born political commentator backing Donald Trump in the upcoming election. He fled Cuba in 1961 and lived in the New Orleans area. He attended the University of New Orleans where he received a B.A. in Political Science and a Master's Degree in Latin American Studies from Tulane. 

Dayne Sherman 

Sherman is an American journalist and joined Jim on the air to lend his support for Hillary Clinton as the next President of the United States. Sherman is also an author and has been publishing short fiction since 2001.

Mike Strain

Commissioner of Agriculture Dr. Mike Strain joins Jim in studio to talk about how the historic flooding has affected crops and livestock in the state. He discusses the recovery process for farmers in the state. Strain plans to visit Cuba again on October 3rd - 7th with Governor John Bel Edwards. 

Mike Wolf

Attorney and Libertarian Mike Wolf chats with Jim about the upcoming presidential election. Wolf says Gary Johnson is the strongest candidate the Libertarian party has ever seen.

Political consultant and blogger Lamar White chats with Jim about the presidential election. White is a supporter of democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.

Editor of Tiger Rag magazine, Worsham talks to Jim about "Pistol" Pete Maravich and his impact on LSU basketball.  Worsham also addresses the rumors of Paul Mainieri possibly coaching the Texas Longhorns.

Former state lawmaker, Melissa Flournoy debates with Humberto Fontova about the laws of gun control and the incidents that occurred in Orlando.

Humberto Fontova is a Cuban-American author, blogger, political commentator, and conservative polemicist.  He argues with Flournoy about the gun policies that are in place and feels that there should not be a ban on weapons.
