Jim Donelon

Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon joins Jim in studio to prep homeowners for the upcoming Hurricane Season. Donelon goes over a checklist to make sure Louisianians are up to date with their insurance before bad weather hits. 

Hour 2:

David Madden

David Madden joins Jim to discuss the removal of Confederate monuments in New Orleans. Madden founded the United States Civil War Center at LSU in 1993. Madden is also an author and many of his novels delve into Civil War history.

Randy Postlewait

President of a motorcycle group, Randy Postlewait, says the DOTD approved helmets are not protective. Current law requires all motorcycle riders to wear a DOTD approved helmet. He says 31 states have a freedom of choice law and we should follow their lead.

John Folse is a Louisiana Chef and founder of Lafitte’s Landing Restaurant.  Folse shares news of his upcoming book Can You Bake It: The Dirt On Vegetables.   

Cary Deaton 

Cary Deaton is a New Orleans Attorney.  He just announced his candidacy for the upcoming Gubernatorial race.  Deaton was a Democratic candidate in the 2011 Governor's election.  Deaton says that John Bel Edwards was meant to be a "spoiler" for his election.
